Rush to Rebuild Dock Pier for Wedding
I spent years building Docks as a young man in Florida. Docks in Florida must hold up to changing tides, tropical storms and hurricanes. Some folks opt for removable dock tops that can be disassembled piece by piece for rising sea levels during storms.
Before moving to Washington, I was recently tasked to rebuild a dock with nothing but pillars left standing. There was a monumental deadline to adhere to: A WEDDING! The happy couple wanted to be environmentally courteous, so we strolled the coastline looking for all the missing deck boards. Digging boards out from newly washed in sand and fishing out boards that lay further up in the brush and woods. With a little hard work, we were able to salvage about 75% of the dock (in pieces of course). We purchased new supports, hardware and patched in new deck boards with old. We turned around the dock quickly for the happy couple to say “I-DO”!
If you find yourself saying “my dock looks old and weathered,” give Newport Home Repair LLC a call to add some weatherproofing stain. If you have rotting dock boards, we are also here to help!
